The link between the man and the rock is old as his relationship with the land.
Digging to bury their dead or to sow their seeds, he found the Marble and the Onyx. Wondering where it came from, admired by its toughness and its beauty, wondering its antiquity, the man sought the ways to work these stones.
Drilling mountains to build temples and houses, the man took good care to cut the stone in blocks and fragments. Polishing and sculpting images of his dreams: as their Gods, their tools; achieving a reflection that springs from the bowels of the eart, to give rise to the solid light and the soft form of the rock.
